Some Netbooks Battery Life Comparison

One of the most attractive features of a netbook is it’s portability, and how well it works on the go. So battery life is really the key of how netbook’s users consider as the most important thing. Some netbooks offer either a 3-cell or 6-cell battery, while others offer now choice in the matter. The 6-cell batteries hold more juice, so can last longer, but there is more to it than simply the number of cells or capacity. Netbooks are designed to be very energy efficient, and work well away from a power socket. But some netbooks seem to perform this task better than others. This Netbooks Battery Life comparison is done by an australian site, did a vast test of 13 netbook’s battery life, ranking them in order of endurance. As expected the netbooks with 6-cells (6600mAh) performed batter than those with 3-cells. But the clear winner was the MSI Wind U115 Hybrid, lasting nearly 7 hours. The MSI Wind U115 with it’s Hybrid HDD and SSD combination. This hybrid system allows for larger capacity with the standard HDD, and low power usage of a smaller SSD. When the HDD is not needed, it powers down, using only the SSD to save power. These tests were done under a worst-case, stress test scenario, so you can expect even longer battery performance under normal usage conditions.
